A2 Main Task Drafts and Final Productions

Conventions used: Performance aspects, elaborate + simplistic settings, attention to mise-en-scene, close ups, some movement.
Conventions not used: Silhouttes, 'vintage' feel, other aspects of performances (orchestra/band/dancers), constant camera movements, lighting changes.
Technical conventions used: Long shots, mid shots, close ups used, long shots = pace of the song, not continuous (flashbacks), story suggested by not given in full (argument, break up, doesn't explain why), narrative is interrupted with shots of the star, tracking star, some settings were relevent to artist, minimum of three settings.
Technical conventions not used: mix of high/low angles, SOME movement, costuming not always fitting to narrative.

After looking at the mark scheme, I would put my music video into level three. A majority of the genre conventions are present, specifically the attention to mise-en-scene (make-up/costuming gives indication of glamour, fits brand image) and technical conventions (length of takes reflect pace of the song, some movement). In my opinion, I could improve by using more movement, having more control of the camera and matching up the lip syncing more effectively.

  2. I think your digipak and advert work really well for your genre! The locations and use of costume also works really well in your music video and are really effective!
